General description of the Institution

ChildVision is the only dedicated centre of its kind in the Republic of Ireland, providing education and training for the visually impaired. Our students range in age from infants through to young adults. All have a visual impairment, some have additional disabilities. ChildVision seeks, through education, training and social care, to provide our students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to fulfil their individual potential, so each can lead the life of his/her choice.
ChildVision Building

motivation for the participation in j.o.b.s. MDVI

The right to an active citizenship for people who are described as MDVI is now a prominent social policy, political and moral imperative, underscored by national legislation, transnational legislation and international treaties. As an education and social care provider, dedicated to promoting the many skills needed for meaningful independence, ChildVision’s involvement in the J.O.B.S. project is prefaced on sharing our experiences, learning from European colleagues’ experiences and helping forge a common perspective on issues which are central to building better futures for the young people with whom we work.
